Trish Tunney caught me in the act today. I think i might have time to finish before Open Studios (April 14/15).
This is the proof that it’s going to be big. After a couple days of work, here’s the current state of affairs. On the left is the inner frame. The platform on top will become the top of the body. On the right, a first coat of paint. And the head is almost complete.
I spent last weekend gathering materials at Building Resources and finally got started on the larger than life Bunnymatic (for the modern world). This sucker is going to be big. We’ve got 13’ ceilings in the studio common area with some plastic strung up on the ceiling to catch the leaks in the rain. I’m now concerned that the plastic is going to get in my way.

I finally finished “Bunnymatic knows basketball”. It’s going up tomorrow and will be on display for a while at Madrone Art Bar. The opening party will be on Wed Mar 14th from 6-9p. There are bound to be some other great pieces. If you like the process, check out Alphonso’s blog here http://alphonzosolorzano.blogspot.com/. His piece is gorgeous.
Today I started “Larger than Life” which will debut at Mission Spring Open Studios in April (14-15). Check out http://missionartistsunited.org for more about that. The photo here was taken from a ladder. This box should become the inner structure on which I’ll hang bunnymatic’s body. We’ll see how that goes.
